Topic: Solomon Islands; the structure of the income tax, and
the structure of the income tax system.
Early in the semester we look at the structure of the income
tax in the Fiji ITA and following this the structure of the income tax system
in the Fiji ITA.
Your assignment is to look at the income tax legislation of
the Solomon Islands and write a paper covering two matters or topics;

The structure of the income tax system
Note, this is a contrast and compare assignment. You are not
being asked to compare the legislation in the Solomon Islands with Fiji. Your
paper looks at and discusses only the Solomon Islands Income Tax Act. Inter
alia, in writing this paper, ensure you use terminology created and used in the
S I1s Act and not the terminology of the Fiji Act.

Tax Act. Indeed this can perfectlyproperly be your only source.
You might dig up something further, for example, descriptive
materials from the Government or one of the larger accounting firms. You are
free to read this but in your paper you donât I donât want to read large
